Define Platform Teams: Option 1: Asset Hierarchy Holistic Entry - Assistant Recommended Asset Hierarchy

This is one of the primary approaches to for utilising the Asset Hierarchy Holistic Entry.

Asset Hierarchy Holistic Entry

The asset hierarchy panel has a sub-menu accessible via the triangle to on the right of the Add button near the bottom right, above the main Platform Teams able.
  1. Ensure the Security Profile below the 'Name' column heading is selected

  2. Click the triangle to the right of the 'Add' button to bring up the sub-menu
    This brings up the 'Select from Suggested Platform Teams to Create' dialog.
  3. Check the box to 'Allow Data to be Sent to OpenAI for Analysis', which will enable the 'Generate' button.

  4. Click the 'Generate' button
  5. Wait. This can take a while.
  6. Once the suggestions are ready for review, select each one to create by clicking each one.
    To select them all, click the first one to select it, then hold down shift and click the last one to select everything in between.
    To select individual rows one at a time, hold down control (Windows) or command (macOS) and click each row.
    To deselect individual rows, hold down control (Windows) or command (macOS) and click each already selected row to deselect it.

  7. Once all of the suggested rows you wish to create are selected, click the Select button.
  8. Repeat steps 1-7 until all Platform Teams have been defined. This can be revisited later if necessary.
    If none of the suggestions provided are suitable, go back to step 4 by clicking the 'Generate' button again to get a new set of suggestions to review.

Environments

If Environments other than Production are required, the AI Assistant can suggest some as well.
  1. Select the Platform Team to suggest Environments for 
  2. Click on the triangle next to the 'Add' button to display the popup menu
    This brings up the 'Select from Suggested Platform Teams to Create' dialog.

  3. Check the box to 'Allow Data to be Sent to OpenAI for Analysis', which will enable the 'Generate' button.
  4. Click the 'Generate' button
  5. Wait. This can take a while.
  6. Once the suggestions are ready for review, select each one to create by clicking each one.
    To select them all, click the first one to select it, then hold down shift and click the last one to select everything in between.

  8. Repeat steps 1-7 until all Environments have been defined. This can be revisited later if necessary.
    If none of the suggestions provided are suitable, go back to step 4 by clicking the 'Generate' button again to get a new set of suggestions to review
    Once created, Environments can be selected for other Platform Teams as well by clicking the 'Add' button rather than suggesting new ones. They don't need to be regenerated or recreated for each Platform Team.

System Assets

When using the AI Assistant to suggest System Assets, it takes into account the point in the hierarchy selected when the request is made. Fore example, the System Assets suggested for the Financial & Auditing Services platform team would be different to those suggested for the Utilities & Infrastructure platform team.
  1. Select an Environment in the context of a specific Platform Team in the asset hierarchy to add System Assets to
  2. Click on the triangle next to the 'Add' button to display the popup menu
    This brings up the 'Select from Suggested System Assets to Create' dialog.

Information Assets

As with the System Assets, the Information Assets can be added within the context of the System Assets using the holistic view of the asset hierarchy.
  1. Select an System Asset in the asset hierarchy to add Information Assets to
  2. Click on the triangle next to the 'Add' button to display the popup menu
